Towering above the region, the 1912m tall Mont Ventoux gained its fame from its inclusion in the thrilling annual Tour de France. Venteux means windy in French and cyclists wishing to take on the peak will have to come fairly well prepared for high winds and a tough climb. It isn’t called the Beast of Provence for nothing!
