Ermitage Crestet

In 1789, Ermitage was a simple farm (north wing) and housed a small silk production (magnanerie) during the second part of the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, major expansion work (EAST wing-main facade) was undertaken to give it this majestic character as well as some touches of Art Deco style.

It was in 2011 that Eric discovered Ermitage by chance and he fell directly in love with this house and the surroundings, it was just the house of his dreams… However, the time was not right to undertake such a project which he kept for in his mind. Although the renovation program looked very ambitious, the place was perfect in his eyes.

The first negotiations in 2011 were unsuccessful but Eric could not give up. Every year he paid her a little visit and it was finally in 2018 that he took the plunge after long discussions with Belinda, the owner at the time, during which he refined his project to launch himself wholeheartedly into this beautiful adventure.

In the fall of 2018, Eric finally acquired this characterful residence to begin a carefully considered change of life but which was not easy… From the summer of 2019, the first gîte, Le Cottage, was able to welcome its first guests who became our most loyal customers. The renovation of the second gîte, Lavender, was completed in the summer of 2020. The swimming pool, the pool house and the guest rooms marked the end of the major work in June 2021, after a long and difficult winter. Ermitage now offers 2 Gîtes and 2 double rooms (East Room and Green Tomatoes) and 2 suites “The Glycine” (family suite of 2 large double rooms and a bathroom) and “Tour Carrée (large suite of 35 sqm including 2 bedrooms that can be rented with Green tomatoes to form a large family space)

A stay at the Ermitage is ideal both for those looking for a place suitable for children, for a family vacation, and for a romantic getaway for two. Without forgetting lovers of the “little queen” sport (cycling), who will find a magnificent and infinite playground around the mythical Mont Ventoux that every cyclist must climb at least once in their life!

Ermitage is located below the historic village of Crestet. One of the most beautiful villages in France with its medieval streets and its breathtaking view of the Baronnies and the Ventoux from the old castle. The village is 4 km from Vaison-la-Romaine, this wonderful little town and its impressive Roman ruins and its medieval old town. You will discover its delicious Provençal market every Tuesday morning and excellent restaurants.
